Rochester First United Methodist Church (FUMC) and Rochester Main Street are sponsoring the 2nd annual Community Photography Show for amateur photographers at FUMC, 34 South Main Street, Rochester, NH on May 16-June 17, 2018.

Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded at a public Photographers Reception on May 16 at 7:00 PM.  Refreshments and entertainment will follow.  Judges will be on hand to discuss individual exhibitor’s work with those who wish to take advantage of this opportunity.

Color or black and white 8x10 or 8x12 prints must be securely matted with backing and submitted at the Welcome Center at FUMC, 34 South Main Street, Rochester, NH.

Up to three (3) prints (1 per category) may be entered into any of the following categories:

1. Scenic

2. People

3. Animals

4. Juvenile photographer (age 12 and under)

5. Young Adult photographer (age 13-19)

6.  Rochester Historic Architecture

Rochester Historic Architecture is a new category this year in honor of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the FUMC building.

A panel of professional photographers will judge the photographs.  1st and 2nd prizes will be awarded in each category.  Each judge will also award a “Judge’s Favorite” ribbon, as well as “Best of Show” and “Special Merit” ribbons from all photographs entered.  Amateurs are defined by this contest as those who do not nor have ever worked professionally in the field of photography.

All entries must be in an 11x 14 mat with a sturdy backing board (backing boards help protect the photographs from damage while being handled).  Exhibitors must put name, address and telephone number on the back.  The exhibitor’s name must not appear on the front.  No glass, frames or foam board will be accepted.  Mats must be sturdy, clean, in good condition and securely attached.  (Mats are available locally at RiverStones Custom Framing, Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby.)  Entry Forms may be picked up at FUMC, Rochester Main Street, Rochester Public Library, RiverStones Custom Framing or downloaded here.
